FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SPARTANBURG, SC - Spartanburg Methodist College is pleased to announce the hiring of two individuals to fill key positions in the College's admissions and financial aid departments.
Patrick Brickhouse, of Spartanburg, has been hired as an Admissions Counselor.
He will work with students and guidance counselors within a 17-county region of South Carolina, in the midlands and coastal areas of the state.
Brickhouse is a 2002 graduate of Spartanburg High School and a 2004 graduate of SMC with an Associate of Arts. He received a Bachelor's of Arts in Communications from the University of South Carolina Upstate in 2007.

"Patrick will be an asset to the admissions office because of his knowledge of the College and its mission. As an alum, he will be able relate firsthand the experiences our students have to prospective students and families. Being able to convey that message is critical to the admissions office and can play a key role in a student's collegiate decision," says Mike Queen, director of admissions.
Emily Staggs, of Inman, SC, has been hired as a Financial Aid Counselor.
She will work with students throughout their financial aid process and also will be responsible for coordinating the College's federal work study program.
Staggs is a 2004 graduate of Anderson University with a Bachelor's of Art in Communications. She is a Florence, SC native and a graduate of South Florence High School.
She previously worked as an admissions counselor at Anderson University.
"We are extremely excited to have Emily join our staff. Her energy and enthusiasm for working with SMC's student population and their families is an asset to the entire campus," says Kendra Burnette, Director of Financial Aid.
Spartanburg Methodist College is in its 98th year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
