SMC Players to Perform “A Murder Is Announced”

SPARTANBURG, SC -- The Spartanburg Methodist College Players will open their annual fall production on Nov. 5 to students and to the public on Nov. 6 and 7.
The Players will be presenting the stage adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1950 work “A Murder Is Announced.”
The cast of the production includes the following SMC students:
* Cheyenne Anthony, of Spartanburg;
* Joseph Burkhalter, of Charleston, SC;
* Kayla Edge, of Pacolet, SC;
* Zachery Elliott, of Lake Wylie, SC;
* Corrie Jolly, of White Rock, SC;
* Amber Osment, of Cowpens, SC;
* Haley Parris, of Chesnee, SC:
* Victoria Prickett, of Spartanburg, SC;
* Chance Reynolds, of Clinton, SC;
* Heather Wood, of Inman, SC;
* and Chris Zayas, of Converse, SC.
“A Murder is Announced” is considered one of Christie’s twelve essential books and was first performed on-stage in 1977.
Christie is the world’s best-known mystery author and best-selling English novelist of all time, having penned more than 80 novels and short story collections during her 50-year career.
The play is being directed by Chris McKinney, an adjunct faculty member at SMC. This is the Spartanburg resident’s 11th production that he has directed at the college.
Admission is free for SMC students and $5 for general admission. Performances will be at 7:30 pm each evening in Camak Auditorium.
