Boiling Springs Native Hired As SMC Admissions Counselor

SPARTANBURG, SC - Spartanburg Methodist College has hired a new admissions counselor to assist with its recruitment efforts.

Kelly TillinghastBoiling Springs native Kelly Tillinghast will serve as SMC's primary admissions counselor for 17 counties throughout the Pee-Dee and Grandstrand regions of the state and will be responsible for promoting the college and recruiting students at various events and at high schools in those regions.

Tillinghast most recently worked as a sales representative for Enterprise.

She is a 2008 graduate of Lander University, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communications, and a 2004 graduate of Boiling Springs High School.

While a student a Lander University, she served as a Student Ambassador.

"Kelly brings a skill-set to the position that will be very beneficial to the mission of the College. We are excited she has become part of the SMC family," says SMC admissions director Mike Queen.

Tillinghast and her husband BJ have been married for two years and live in Boiling Springs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, and is an avid Clemson University athletics fan.

Spartanburg Methodist College is in its 99th year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment.  More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning
