SMC, Coca-Cola of Spartanburg Extend Partnership

SPARTANBURG, SC - Spartanburg Methodist College and Coca-Cola of Spartanburg recently extended their partnership to benefit SMC athletics for years to come.SMC president Dr. Colleen Keith and Wayne Smith, of Coca Cola of Spartanburg

The 5-year exclusive beverage contract is valued at $60,000. But with additional volume, officials say it has the potential to reach $80,000.

"Spartanburg Coca-Cola is proud to support education within our community. We understand that educating young men and women is a vital part to the future of our community and to the world," says Wayne Smith, sales manager with Coca-Cola of Spartanburg.

This partnership will provide substantial athletic support in product, equipment and funds. It will provide unrestricted financial support annual for SMC athletics.

"We are continuing approximately a 20 year relationship. It's a very beneficial move to continue our relationship with Coca-Cola, as their support of SMC athletics has always been very strong," says SMC athletic director Mark Perdue.

Spartanburg Methodist College is in its 100th year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
