Courses Released for Summer 2011 SMC Paralegal Certificate Program
SPARTANBURG, SC – Spartanburg Methodist College’s Paralegal Certificate Program moves into its 14th year with 2 legal specialty course offerings for Summer 2011: Bankruptcy for Paralegals and Probate Law.
The courses for this term will be held Tuesday and Thursday nights at 5:30 starting June 28th, and will be taught by local bankruptcy lawyer Edwin McDonnell and Judge Ponda Caldwell, respectively.
The registration deadline to sign up for the program's Summer 2011 term is June 23rd. Classes will begin on Tuesday, June 28 and run through September 8.
The Certificate Program is designed to accommodate both beginning and experienced legal workers who wish to acquire the skills necessary to advance their careers in the legal field. Later class times are designed to suit the busy lifestyles of professionals, and allow continuing employment as students move through the program.
A total of 20 courses, with each course meeting 10 times, and a 40-hour internship are required for completion of SMC's Paralegal Certification Program. All legal specialty courses within the program are taught by local judges, attorneys and/or paralegals.
The cost for each 10-session course is $300; however, the general public is welcome to audit a 10-session course for only $150.
Spartanburg Methodist College is in its 100th year of providing quality education to students in a Christian environment. More than 90 percent of SMC graduates continue their education at other institutions of higher learning.
