Acclaimed Spoken Word Artist to Perform at Spartanburg Methodist College for Black History Month!

Spartanburg Methodist College welcomes critically acclaimed spoken word artist Glenis Redmond for a special Black History Month presentation on Monday, February 20th, 2012 at 7 pm in Camak Auditorium.

 

A South Carolina native, Redmond performs and teaches across the country and abroad. Her work has won the Carrie McCray Literary Award, and she has received writing fellowships from the Vermont Writing Center and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. Redmond has been widely published in numerous publications and literary journals, including Stanford University's Black Arts Quarterly and the Appalachian Journal. She performs to many different audiences - from universities to juvenile detention centers, coffee houses to huge performing arts centers.
