Tim Wallace Recognized with J.L. Geddis Staff Excellence Award

Thursday, January 19th, 2012 -- Spartanburg Methodist College awarded Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach Tim Wallace the J.L. Geddis Staff Excellence Award at Thursday's Recognition Luncheon.
Wallace has served at SMC for twenty years, receiving countless awards and accolades for his outstanding leadership and support.
During his time at SMC, Wallace has seen five Region 10 Coach of the Year awards, 4 Louisville Slugger Coaches Awards, 5 Diamond ABCA Regional Coach of the Year awards, 4 Eastern District Coach of the Year awards, and was Carolina's Junior College Conference Coach of the Year in 1992. In 2000, he was inducted into Wofford's Hall of Fame. As Athletic Director, he is pivotal in the Athletic Department's growth and fundraising efforts.
Named in honor of Mr. J.L. Geddis, this annual award recognizes outstanding staff service, highlighting staff members who display creativity, leadership, teamwork, enhancement of the overall work environment, and special contributions to the school as a whole. Mr. Geddis was a1959 Spartanburg Junior College alum, who returned to work for 40 years at the school, holding a wide range of positions. Geddis was inducted into the SMC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, and the J.L. Geddis Award was established in 2007.
