Scholarships
Federal Grants and State Scholarships:
1. Federal Pell Grant
a) Entirely need-based.
b) Completion of FAFSA required.
c) Awards range from $605 to $5645 based on full-time enrollment.
d) Does not have to be repaid.
2. Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG):
a) First priority given to Pell grant recipients.
b) Awarded on first-come, first-served basis.
c) Does not have to be repaid.
3. South Carolina Tuition Grant (www.sctuitiongrants.com)
a) South Carolina residents only.
b) Available at South Carolina private colleges and universities.
c) Completion of FAFSA required by June 30, 2013.
d) Academic requirements for freshman student eligibility and continuing student eligibility.

4. South Carolina LIFE Scholarship:
a) To qualify at Spartanburg Methodist College, a student needs to graduate from high school with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on the Uniform Grading Scale.
b) Must enroll in at least 12 non-remedial hours per term.
c) No required application.
d) Renewable award based on a 3.0 LIFE GPA with an average of 30 credit hours earned each academic year (remedial coursework does not apply toward this requirement).
e) Definition of LIFE GPA: Must include all grades and credit hours earned at any eligible institution (in-state or out-of-state), including courses that do not transfer based on the institution's policy and college courses taken while in high school.

g) Cannot receive South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance.
h) Submission of South Carolina State Aid Affidavit.

5. South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance
a) Completion of FAFSA.
b) Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 hours).
c) South Carolina residents only.
d) Must be enrolled in a diploma, certificate, or degree program.
e) Cannot receive South Carolina LIFE Scholarship.
