Leadership Retreat 2011

Look-Up Lodge - Travelers Rest, South Carolina

 This year's retreat will start at SMC on Friday, April 1^st.  We will then travel to Look-Up Lodge by bus on Friday afternoon and return on Saturday evening.  All students attending should meet in the Student Center Parking Lot by 3:45 pm on Friday, April 1st.   We plan to leave by 4 pm.  You will not have to pay for any meals during the retreat.  We will return to SMC on Saturday night, April 2^nd around 9 pm.

Look-Up Lodge is a camp and retreat center in Travelers Rest, SC.  The temperatures will most likely be in the upper 60s during the day and in the 40s at night.  Make sure you bring warm clothing and sleepwear that is appropriate!  Make sure you bring some tennis shoes as well!  Flip flops will not be the best shoes to wear during parts of the retreat.

 WHAT TO BRING:
Twin sized sheets and/or Sleeping Bag
Blanket
Pillow
Towel and washcloth
Toiletry items (including soap!!!!)
Comfortable clothes and shoes (Tennis shoes/sneakers are a MUST)
Bathing suit (optional, but no two-pieces without t-shirt cover up are allowed - a camp rule)
A great attitude!

 IMPORTANT NOTE:  Electronic devices - Cell phones and ipods/mp3 players must be put away during retreat meetings 

WHAT NOT TO BRING:
More than one bag!!!!
Alcohol, drugs, fireworks, or firearms
Anything else you would get in trouble for having on campus!

FREE TIME
On Saturday afternoon, you will have the opportunity to play on the waterfront (swimming, fishing, paddle boats) and on the Giant Swing (a 70ft. drop!) and a climbing wall.  You must bring your own fishing rod and reel if you are interested. 

 You can also play paintball at 3 pm on Saturday at a cost of only $5 per person.  You will have to pay this cost if you wish to play.  All equipment and supplies are provided.
