Pioneer Peers
Pioneer Peers are sophomores who assist with Orientation, serve as peer leaders for the SMC 101 class, and assist with other needs on campus including alumni relations, institutional advancement, and more! Pioneer Peers are selected each March for the upcoming academic year.
The 2011-2012 Pioneer Peers
During Orientation, the Pioneer Peers serve as your go-to resource. These students can provide you with a true picture of what life as an SMC student is like. Pioneeer Peers are trained to help students and their families adjust to this new stage in life. Your Pioneer Peer can answer questions, serve as a mentor, and assist you as you navigate through the first few days on campus.

Kayla Susie Hometown: Taylors, SC Favorite Superhero: Poison Ivy, AKA Pamela Lillian Isley, is known mostly for being Batman's enemy. She is one of Bruce Wayne's love interests, lucky girl...She was prompted because of a rise in feminism. I like her because she is strong and independent. She has the ability to create plant life. She takes Robinson Park and recreates plant life after an earthquake in Gotham City. Overall, she wants what is best for Gotham City and shows this by helping destroy Clayface. Her intentions are usually good; she is just misunderstood, like many people. If you get to know her, you realize she is trying to do what is best.
