Rose Named to All-South Team

Sophomore Demonstrates Leadership On and Off Field

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  Lady Pioneers Soccer midfielder Nicole Rose was recently named to the NSCAA All-South Team for junior colleges. 

Nicole is a graduate of Ridge View High School in Columbia. Dan Kenneally, Lady Pioneers Head Soccer Coach, said that during her sophomore year, Rose has taken on leadership roles both on and off the field. She was voted captain by her peers and also serves as secretary of the Student Government Association (SGA).

“Nicole played primarily midfield but when we would struggle to score I would move her forward,” said Kenneally. “If we were rattled in the back I would move her to sweeper to help settle the team down.” Kenneally said that Rose will be an asset to any program she may join her Junior year and will be “sorely missed” at SMC.
