SMC Players’ Spring Production Opens March 22
Student Group to Present “Feiffer’s People”

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College Players will open their annual spring production on March 22 to students and to the public on March 23.

The student group will be presenting Jules Feiffer’s “Feiffer’s People” to the public on March 22 - 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Camak Auditorium on the campus of Spartanburg Methodist College.

The production was written by American cartoonist, novelist, playwright, and screenwriter Jules Feiffer.

“ ‘Feiffer’s People’ is a commentary on the human condition ---- in interpersonal relationships, in group relationships, in national and international relationships. Written in the mid-seventies and presented in a “laugh-in”- like format of very short monologues and scenes, the play appears like photographs arranged in a scrapbook. These photos address young and old, male and female, rich and poor, black and white. And at 30 years old, it still has relevance to today,” says director Chris McKinney.

McKinney is an adjunct faculty member at SMC. This is the Spartanburg resident’s sixth production that he has directed at the college.

The cast of ‘Feiffer’s People’ is Alisha Adams, of Chapin; Ryne Busby, of Clinton; Sabrina Cobb, of Liberty; Robert Dykens, of Pickens; Chrystal Pugh, of Darlington; Sommer Pruitt, of Chesnee; Amanda Shelnutt, of Clinton; Wanda Sherlock, of Columbia; Bryan Werner, of Woodruff; Josh Williams, of Liberty; and Chris Walker, of Greer.

Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general admission.
