Haynes Receives Huff Faculty Prize
Given During Awards Day April 19

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Judy Haynes, long-time member of the Spartanburg Methodist College faculty and Chair of the Humanities Division, received the Archie Vernon and Margaret Wannamaker Huff Faculty Prize during Awards Day April 19.
The Huff Faculty Prize is made possible through a generous gift from Dr. A.V. Huff and his wife in memory of Dr. Huff’s parents. Huff was a Trustee at SMC and recently retired from the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs from Furman University. The prize, awarded for study or travel, is presented annually to a professor who exemplifies outstanding professional qualifications and teaching ability. The recipient is selected by the faculty of SMC. Haynes first joined the College faculty in 1968 and remained until 1974. She returned in 1982. Haynes plans to retire at the end of the Spring 2006 semester. She holds a M.A.T. degree from Converse College and a B.A. degree from Limestone College. Haynes is a resident of Enoree. She has a husband, Keith Haynes, and two daughters: Mary Ann and Susan.
