Hamilton Signs with SMC Softball
Southside Christian Athlete Signs Letter of Intent
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Karen Hamilton has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on the Lady Pioneers Softball Team for the 2006-2007 Season.
Head Softball Coach, Rick Pauly, is pleased about the signing of Hamilton because she is both a talented player and a good student.
“She is a strong middle infielder playing equally well at shortstop and second base,” stated Pauly. Hamilton is also a two-time All Region player for her high school coach, Eddie Holman. Karen is the shortstop on the team which recently won its Region and finished second in District playoffs. Pauly looks for her to add much needed depth to SMC’s middle infield and is excited about her overall speed on the basepaths.
Hamilton is the daughter of Sandy and Phil Hamilton of Easley.
SMC plays in the competitive Region X of the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) with teams from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Their upcoming competition also includes numerous games with area NCAA Divison I and II teams.
