Pioneers Are Region Champs 

Next Stop: Districts at Staten Island

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Pioneers Baseball Team breezed through the NJCAA Region X Championship and assured themselves a spot in the District Championships later this week the New York Yankees Stadium (Minor League) in Staten Island, N.Y.

SMC’s decisive victory came this past Saturday night with a 3-1 win over Florence-Darlington Technical College. Despite injuries to the pitching staff, the Pioneers stayed on top defeating Rockingham Community College 8-0, Surry Community College 5-3, and Florence-Darlington 15-0. The tournament was held at Russell C. King Field on the Wofford College campus.
