Three Pioneer Baseball Players Named Academic All-Americans

SPARTANBURG, SC – Three members of the Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers baseball team recently received post-season honors for academic performance in the 2006 – 2007 school year.

Sophomore Travis Armour, of Murrells Inlet, SC, was named an Academic All-American, which requires a Grade Point Average of 3.6 – 3.79. Sophomores Trey Delk, of Elgin, SC, and Craig Roberson, of Liberty, SC were named Distinguished Academic All-Americans, having earned a GPA of at least 3.8.

Armour and Roberson were both named to SMC’s President’s List for the Spring 2007 semester. Delk was named to the College’s Dean’s List.

“To have three of our players named Academic All-Americans is a testament to their individual dedication and hard work, both on and off the field. We’re very proud of each of them,” says SMC Head Baseball Coach Tim Wallace.
