Mancebo to Direct Athletic Training at SMC

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  Mark W. Mancebo was recently named Director of Athletic Training at Spartanburg Methodist College.

Mancebo is a Certified Athletic Trainer and received his Master’s Degree in Health Science and Education from Western Carolina University. He also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at California State University-Sacramento.

A native of Citrus Heights, Calif., Mancebo is the son of Dennis Mancebo and Charlene Mancebo.

Mancebo’s goal is to bring consistency in the Athletic Training program at SMC, and to get injured athletes back in action as soon as possible. Mancebo says he loves to teach and looks forward to teaching the latest techniques to his assistants.

"SMC has definitely taken a huge step towards ensuring the safety and health concerns for it 280 student-athletes. Mark has a great wealth of knowledge and experience to serve the entire Athletic Department.  We are excited that he is here at SMC," said Mark Perdue, SMC Athletic Director. Mancebo resides in Moore, S.C.
