Ewart to Speak at Ceremony

The Paralegal Certificate Program at Spartanburg Methodist College graduates its first class Aug. 13. SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  The Paralegal Certificate Program will graduate its first class since the program came to Spartanburg Methodist College.

The graduation speaker will be Chuck Ewart, President of the Ewart Group, a Spartanburg-based company that provides consulting for businesses, chambers of commerce, and various types of organizations. With his motivational style of speaking, Ewart has addressed more than 1,200 groups in 31 states and several foreign countries for the past 20 years. In 1988, Ewart was named Chamber Executive of the Year in North Carolina, and in 1991, he served as President of the North Carolina Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

Ewart is a graduate of Erskine College in Due West and has served on their Board of Trustees and Chaired the Board of Counselors. He has completed the Institute for Organization Management at the University of Georgia and the Academy for Organization Management at Notre Dame University. Ewart served as Chairman of the Academy at Notre Dame and is a past Chairman of the Board of Regents for the multi-year Institute program at the University of Georgia. Chuck Ewart has served two terms as a member of the National Board of Trustees of the Institutes for Organization Management.

The Paralegal Certificate Program, originally hosted at Converse College, moved to SMC in 2004.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13, in the William Milton Davis Mission Chapel.
