Bonnette Signs with SMC Softball

Bamberg-Ehrhardt  Athlete Signs Letter of Intent

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  Leslie Bonnette has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on the Lady Pioneers Softball Team for the 2006-2007 Season.

Head Softball Coach, Rick  Pauly is very please about the signing of Bonnette because she is a “complete player” who is not only an outstanding softball player, but is also a very high academic student.

Bonnette has garnered numerous softball awards during her high school career. She was an  All Region selection in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006.  In 2005 she was the Region’s MVP. Bonnette followed up an All State selection in 2005 with an additional All State selection this season.

“Her greatest quality may be her leadership both on and off the field,” says Pauly, noting that she is an outstanding shortstop and batted over .500 this past season. Pauly looks for Bonnette to make an “immediate impact” on the Pioneer softball program.”

SMC plays in the competitive Region X of the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) with teams from across the Carolinas. Their upcoming competition also includes numerous games with area NCAA Divison I and II teams.

Bonnette is the daughter of Donna Brown and Wesley Bonnette of Bamberg.
