Crime Prevention

SMC is a private college that is open to the public. During normal working hours most college buildings are open for regular business and entrance to facilities is not closely monitored. This means that occasionally persons come onto the campus who may not be authorized to do so. Students and employees are encouraged to exercise shared responsibility and common sense precautions in their daily activities. Such precautions include walking in groups; not leaving personal property unsecured or unattended; keeping room doors locked; engraving valuable property with identification; and reporting suspicious persons or activity to Campus Safety.

Throughout the school year the Campus Police Officers conduct seminiars on topics such as personal safety, alcohol and other drugs, fire safety, and safe driving.
