Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.
--John Wesley
In 2001, Spartanburg Methodist College freshmen participated in the pilot program of the Freshmen Day of Service.
During Basic Orientation, students were sent out into the community in small groups to participate in a wide range of service projects. Types of projects included working in soup kitchens, food pantries, with Habitat for Humanity and at local churches.
We are now embarking on the adventure for the sventh year in a row.. We are excited about the opportunities we have to serve the citizens of the Upstate area. With your orientation group and a faculty/staff learning partner, you will be assigned a specific project for the day. This is your chance to make a difference in the community of which you will be a part, and a chance to gain new skills and learn more about organizations you may want to continue to volunteer with after the day is done.
