Mark Perdue Athletic Director / Men's Golf Coach In addition to coaching the Golf Team, Perdue also serves as the College's Athletic Director. Perdue came to SMC in 2004 from the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he was Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and a Physical Education instructor. Before coming to the Spartanburg area, Perdue was the coordinator of Athletic Training Services at the University of Charleston in Charleston, W. Va. Perdue received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Athletic Training and a Master of Science degree in Physical Education from Marshall University in Huntington, W. Va. Perdue resides in Boiling Springs with his wife, Paula, and children: Sam and Tess.

Matthew Bayliff

Assistant Men’s Golf Coach  

Bayliff came to SMC after graduating from North Greenville University where he was an All-American in the classroom and on the golf course. Throughout his collegiate playing experiences he has compiled a great deal of knowledge about the technical and mental aspects of the game. As assistant coach, these are the attributes he will pass on to our players. Also, he will be working closely with our sophomores, offering advice on how they can best continue their athletic and educational careers. 

In 2006, he received a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from North Greenville. Bayliff is currently employed with Spartanburg County School District 2, where he is serving as a Career Development Facilitator at Boiling Springs Junior High School.  

Bayliff resides in Chesnee with his wife, Megan.
