Pioneer Club

What is the Pioneer Club?

The Pioneer Club is Spartanburg Methodist College's athletic support fund.  Through the efforts of the Pioneer Club more than 200 students receive scholarship assistance annually, helping them to pursue an academic as well as an athletic dream. 

These men and women compete on fourteen (14) intercollegiate athletic programs and compete at the local, conference, regional, and national levels. 

Last year more than 400 alumni, friends, and former athletes contributed a total of $37,143 through the Pioneer Club to support physically –gifted students at the College. 

What are the goals of the Pioneer Club?

The goal for the 2002 Pioneer Club is $74,000 to go toward funding scholarships for more than 200 physically gifted students at SMC.  With federal and state funds continually being reduced, this large increase in the goal has become necessary.  We need the help of alumni, friends, and former athletes, now more than any other time in recent history!  We need to close the gap between the cost of education through the scholarships awarded and the actual amount of money raised.

Double your Gift! 

Many companies match employee contributions to a college such as SMC.  The amount varies by company but may range up to four times the original gift.  Stop by your company's personnel office and request a matching gift form and mail it to the College.

The beautiful River Falls Plantation in Duncan, SC is the location for a semi-annual golf fund raiser held in the Spring and Fall each year. Consider a sponsorship and plan to join us for a great day of golf on a 18-hole Gary Player Signature Golf Course.
