High Performance Pitching Clinic Huge Success

The 5th annual SMC High Performance Pitching Clinic,  hosted by head coach Rick Pauly and his daughter Sarah Pauly, was a huge success.  Sixty-six pitchers and forty-four catchers attended the clinic on Saturday Oct. 28th. The pitching talent level was high as many of the young ladies were advanced pitchers with college level potential.

Sarah Pauly, a three-time National Pro Fastpitch All-Star, demonstrated the pitching mechanics required to throw elite level movement pitches.

As Rick Pauly talked everyone through the motions, Sarah demonstrated the riseball, dropball, change-up, curveball, and screwball. It was an impressive display by an impressive pitcher. The pitchers and catchers were measured in several different skills with winners announced at the end of the clinic.  The top 10 performances in each category will be posted for all to see.

Numerous pitching instructors and college level pitchers were on hand to help with the demonstration and give tips to the young pitchers. Coaches/instructors from SMC, Erskine, Presbyterian, Furman, College of Charleston, Appalachian State and Chattanooga were on hand to assist.
