 SUMMER SESSION GENERAL INFORMATION

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

New Students: (Students not previously enrolled at SMC or not currently enrolled at another institution.) Complete the Summer College Application printed on this flyer and submit it with a $20 non-refundable application fee to the Office of Admissions at Spartanburg Methodist College. Submit a high school transcript with graduation date, and transcripts from all colleges attended. For information, write or call the Admissions Office, 864-587-4213 or toll free at 1-800-772-7286.

Continuing Students: (Students who are currently enrolled at SMC.) Complete the Summer College Application printed on this flyer and submit it to the Registrar’s Office at Spartanburg Methodist College. You may also register directly with your advisor.

Transient Students: (Students who are currently enrolled at another college or university are considered transient students.) Complete the Summer College application printed on this flyer and secure the written authorization of the Registrar or Academic Dean at the college or university where you are a regularly enrolled student. Send the application and a $20 non-refundable application fee to the Office of Admissions at Spartanburg Methodist College, 1000 Powell Mill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

Schedule: The summer schedule includes one term: May 28 - June 26. Students may take one or two (3 hr. or 4 hr.) courses and a physical education course in the term.

COSTS FOR SUMMER 2008

Tuition Expense: $170.00 per credit hour

Room and Board: The Room and Board costs for the term are $807.00. Meals are available Monday-Friday. Residence halls are open seven days a week during the term. Residence halls will open for student check-in on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, between 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Residence halls will close at 5:00 pm on June 26.

Other Expenses: The cost of books and supplies will vary by course and course load. Information regarding costs and financial aid may be obtained by contacting the Admissions Office at 864-587-4213, or the Financial Aid Office at 864-587-4298.
