Brittany Harry enters her second year as coach of the SMC Lady Pioneers Volleyball team in the 2008/2009 season. She also serves as the Sports Information Director for SMC's athletics programs.

Harry is a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate and holds a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism.

She played on the USC Upstate women’s volleyball team from 2002-2005 and served as its team captain in the 2005 season. Despite being plagued with knee injuries throughout her career at USC, she is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year for women’s volleyball at the college, as well as the the team’s second all-time digs leader. During her senior year, she was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference second team and was also a member of the Peach Belt Presidential Honor Roll.

While at USC Upstate Harry served as a four-year member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC); she served as the Student Government Representative for SAAC during her membership. She also held a sports information internship with the USC Upstate Athletic Department and was the Internet broadcaster for all home volleyball matches in 2006. She also spent two months attending the University of Cadiz in Cadiz, Spain during the summer of 2005.

Her coaching experience includes coaching camps during the summer at Wofford College, Clemson University and in Illinois. She also serves as a coach during the spring at Club South in Spartanburg. Club South is one of the largest clubs in the southeast for juniors aged 7-18.

In 2007, she coached the 16 National team to a runner-up finish in the USAV Palmetto Region in Charlotte, NC, with two players being named named All-region.

Harry is a native of Illinois, and resides in Spartanburg. In her free time, she enjoys playing in indoor and outdoor volleyball leagues, reading and watching movies. She is also planning to start working towards her master’s degree in Sports Management in Spring 2008.
