Fall 2007 Outlook

The women's golf team enters its' first season, and Coach Owings has high expectations for the team.  

"We will mostly play a Division 2 schedule this fall, and I feel we will be highly competitive,” says Owings. 

This team fields seven golfers that will be competing to make the traveling squad of five golfers, and that competition in itself will make the women become better.  

Coach Owings does not see this fall as a "tester" semester for these girls, rather an opportunity to showcase a new team with talent.  

“This team is capable to not only compete with, but win this season,” says Owings. 

Coach Owings and Asst. Coach Brad Kelly have high expectations for this team to start a women's golf tradition at SMC. Time will tell, and everyone is excited to see how this team will perform.
