SMC Volleyball Coach Megan Aiello headed to Honolulu, Hawaii

Spartanburg Methodist College Volleyball Coach Megan Aiello has been selected to represent SMC at the NoKaOi Volleyball Showcase in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Aiello will coach an elite team of high school student-athletes from North and South Carolina during the June 17-24showcase.

Aiello returned in 2013 as Head Volleyball Coach at Spartanburg Methodist College after six years at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. Aiello has an overall record of 147-125 in nine seasons.

Aiello led the Pioneers to a 57-24 overall record and a 41-11 record in Region X play. She directed the 2003 Pioneer club to a 23-5 record, a regular season Region X Championship and was awarded the Region X Coach of the Year for her efforts.

While at Huntingdon College, Aiello compiled a record six year record of 90-101; helped lead the program to a 2010 regular season Great South Athletic Conference Championship and was awarded the Great South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. Aiello also served as the Associate Athletic Director, Director of Compliance, and the Senior Women’s Administrator.

Aiello coached 15 All Conference Selections, 6 All Freshmen, 36 All-Academic selections and the 2007 Libero of the Year.

As head volleyball coach for SMC, Aiello directs all aspects of the competitive NJCAA Division I women’s volleyball program.  In addition, she has served as Region X Volleyball Chair, NJCAA Region X Women’s Director, an adjunct professor in SMC’s health and physical education department.

Aiello, who holds a bachelor of science from Anderson College (SC) in Physical Education and a Masters of Arts in Education from Bluffton College (OH), is active in the SC Midlands Volleyball, Columbia; Club South Volleyball        , Spartanburg and is a member of the NACWAA         and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
