Admission Requirements

New Students

(Students not previously enrolled at SMC or not currently enrolled at another institution) Complete the Summer College Application printed on the below brochure and submit it with a $20 non-refundable application fee to the Office of Admissions at Spartanburg Methodist College. Submit a high school transcript with graduation date, and transcripts from all colleges attended. For information, call the Admissions Office at 864-587-4213, or toll free at 1-800-772-7286.

Continuing Students

(Students who are currently enrolled at SMC) Register directly with your advisor.  You may also complete the Summer College Application Form in the below brochure  and submit it to the Registrar’s Office at Spartanburg Methodist College.

Transient Students

(Students who are currently enrolled at another college or university are considered transient students.) Complete the Summer College application printed in the below brochure  and secure the written authorization of the Registrar or Academic Dean at the college or university where you are a regularly enrolled student. Send the application and a $20 non-refundable application fee to the Office of Admissions at Spartanburg Methodist College, 1000 Powell Mill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

Course Load

Students may take up to two (3 hr. or 4 hr.) courses and a physical education course in Session I.  Students may take up to two courses in Session II.

Drop/Add Period

For Session I, the last day to drop or add courses is Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 12:00 noon. For Session II, students must be present the first day with a clearance card from the business office.

Tuition and Room and Board for Summer 2014

Tuition Expense

Tuition is $225.00 per credit hour for Summer School.

Room and Board

The Room and Board costs for Session I are $985.00.  Meals are available Monday-Friday. Residence halls are open seven days a week during the term. Residence halls will open for student check-in on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, between 3:00 pm-5:00 pm. Residence halls will close at 5:00 pm on June 27.  Residence facilities are not available for Session II.
