Because the majority of SMC students transfer to other colleges, we work closely with each student to ensure they are registering for the courses they need to meet their academic goals both here and at other institutions.
SMC students register under the supervision of an Academic Adviser. It’s important for students to communicate with their Adviser throughout the academic year, but essential during registration periods.
FALL SEMESTER REGISTRATION:
- For new Freshmen – Fall semester registration takes place during a private appointment with an Academic Advisor beginning in April prior to fall semester. See the Academic Advising page for details.
- For returning students – Fall semester registration begins in March. Watch your email for information regarding pre-registration information.
SPRING SEMESTER REGISTRATION:
- For new Freshmen – Spring semester registration takes place in a private appointment with an Academic Advisor in early January before classes begin. See the Academic Advising page for details.
- For returning students – Spring semester registration begins in October. Watch your email for information regarding pre-registration information.
SUMMER SESSION REGISTRATION
On-campus and online courses begin each year at the end of May.
WINTER TERM ONLINE REGISTRATION
Information for Winter 2018 will be available in the fall.
