About me:Hello, My name is Megan Atkins and I am one of Admissions Specialists here at SMC! I grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina and graduated from James F. Byrnes High School. After earning my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University, I spent four years as a teacher- an experience that deepened my love for education and student growth. Wanting to help students continue to grow outside of the K-12 setting, I decided to pursue a career in higher education. Here, I found my way to SMC and immediately fell in love with the welcoming campus and the close-knit and supportive community; this place is truly special! As an Admissions Specialist, I am passionate about helping students find their path and feel confident in their next steps, as well as feeling supported along the way.
