Move-Out Instructions

Spring Semester 2020 Move-Out

IMPORTANT! Please read the  information on this page carefully. We want move-out to be as smooth and as safe as possible for everyone. We're in this together!

To preserve the safety of all, SMC reserves the right to deny Residence Hall access to any student who does not follow the Move-Out Schedule and Instructions.

Move-out Schedule & Reservation

UPDATE: Due to increased demand, we have changed the schedule for Move-Out. Please see the new schedule below.

SMC Residence Life is abiding by local and national health care and government mandates to slow the spread of the COVID-19 illness.

Our goal is to limit the number of students and families in the Residence Halls at the same time.

We know this may be inconvenient, but it is for your protection and the protection of the most vulnerable in our communities. We respectfully request your cooperation.

STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL AT YOUR SMC ADDRESS WITH A LINK TO RESERVE A DAY AND TIME TO MOVE OUT OF YOUR RESIDENCE HALL ROOM.

No student will be admitted to their hall without a reserved time. There are more than enough available times per building to ensure there are options that work with your schedule.

Room and Board Rebates

Resident students will be rebated room and board charges for the days unused in the semester due to the coronavirus.

For some students, this rebate will take care of any remaining balances and payments plans you have.

For other students, this rebate may create a refund. Refunds will be mailed to the student address on file.

The estimated time to expect these refunds will be middle-to-late April.

Please remember that tuition and fees remain unaltered as classes continue online to complete the semester.

Questions about rebates? Contact SMC's Business Office at 864-587-4259 or crockerm@smcsc.edu.
