Disability Services – Student Support Assistant

Under the supervision of the Director of Disability and Academic Support Services, this position works with students who have disabilities with particular emphasis in assisting students who are on the autism spectrum and with executive functioning issues. The person who holds this position will assist students on the autism spectrum through ensuring that they understand and complete assignments in a timely manner and will include coaching students to be more self-sufficient. In addition, this position will assist with administering tests to students with disabilities and with training students to use assistive technology to mitigate the effects of a disability/disabilities, including the utilization of resources to locate books in audio or electronic format for students with reading-related disabilities.
