Faculty – Public Speaking/Drama (Fall 2019)
Faculty members at Spartanburg Methodist College are committed to providing an excellent learning environment for all of its students. Faculty members plan, present and evaluate classroom instruction and related activities. Although teaching is the most important role of the faculty, the availability of faculty on the campus enhances the environment on the campus and fosters stronger working relationships among members of the college community. Therefore, faculty members are expected to participate in the life of the college outside of the classroom in such activities as student advisement, college committees, faculty meetings and extracurricular programs. Faculty members are expected to maintain open, cordial and concerned relationships of the highest professional nature with students.
The College prefers candidates with the terminal degree in the field to be taught (usually the doctorate). The Master’s degree in the field to be taught is required. A Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in the field may be considered. All degrees must have been earned at a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Applications from candidates who are credentialed in more than one area are encouraged.
Opportunities exist for tenure track and administrative responsibilities.
