COVID-19 Testing at SMC:
All students are required to be tested each week.
Testing is located in the Buchheit Boardroom (between the library and admin building). Students will receive information about how to schedule their testing times. Check your SMC email frequently.
- Your COVID-19 test results will be ready within 48 – 72 hours from the date and time that your test was taken.
- "Not Detected" means you are negative for COVID-19 (no further action is needed on your part).
- "Indeterminate" means that the test did not detect a clear positive or negative result. (You must contact us at wellnessgroup@smcsc.edu, text or call 864-590-6595).
- "Detected" means you are positive for COVID-19 (You must contact us at wellnessgroup@smcsc.edu, text or call 864-590-6595).
-
Once you have retrieved your results, if your results are Detected-Positive or Indeterminate, call or text SMC Wellness at 864-590-6595 to notify us. You can also email wellnessgroup@smcsc.edu with your name, results, and contact number. A staff member will connect with you to discuss a plan for what will need to happen next.
-
If you have not received your results, please ensure 3 full days have passed since your test date. Then call the helpline at 877-377-3880 or 803-830-4120. You can reach them by email at COVID@LTS.com as well. They will work to secure your results as quickly as possible.
-
Note: If you test positive, you may receive a phone call from DHEC, South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control, as part of their contract tracing efforts.
As always, we are here to help! If you have questions, please reply to this email, or call (864) 590-6595!

As Pioneers Together, we'll work to prevent COVID-19 spread on campus
Keeping the campus community protected from COVID-19 will take all of us: students, staff and faculty. Here's the full plan for how SMC will work across the four major areas of protection - hygiene, masks, social distancing and health tracking - to slow or prevent a COVID-19 outbreak from closing campus this fall.
