Professor of Criminal Justice 

The Criminal Justice Department at Spartanburg Methodist College invites applications for a full-time instructor. The candidates are expected to contribute broadly to the department by teaching courses in-person and online programs, as well as developing upper-level courses in their area of specialization. The successful candidate will be able to teach Introduction to Criminal Justice, Corrections, Criminology, Research Methods, and Victimology among other courses. The successful candidate should have expertise and interest in innovative pedagogies, demonstrate a record of teaching excellence, and show potential or demonstrate the ability for research and scholarship.  The successful candidate must be committed to enhancing student learning and experiences of a diverse student population.   

The College prefers candidates with a terminal degree in the field to be taught (usually the doctorate). The master’s degree in the field to be taught is required. A master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in the field may be considered. All degrees must have been earned at a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Applications from candidates who are credentialed in more than one area are encouraged.
