Ask the Registrar at each previously attended college/university to submit your transcripts (or you may submit official transcripts) via mail or email to our Admissions Office. If you have completed LESS than 16 hours at another college, you will also need to submit your high school transcript.

Dual Enrollment applicants are high school or home school students who want to take college-level courses at SMC.
Dual Enrollment Requirements:
To qualify for the Dual Enrollment program offered by Spartanburg Methodist College, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a high school junior or senior and at least 16 years old
- Be enrolled in college preparatory coursework
- Have a 3.25 GPA or higher on the Uniform Grading Scale
- Course selection must be approved by the Registrar
- You may enroll in no more than a total of 8 SMC classes and no more than 2 SMC classes per semester
- You must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher during each semester to be approved for the subsequent semester
- SMC must receive the student’s final, official high school transcript with proof of graduation before SMC credit will be validated and released to any college or university

Returning applicants are those who were previously enrolled at SMC but have stepped away from pursing their degree and wish to return; who have been placed on academic probation or suspension and wish to re-enroll; and those who have completed their associates degree with SMC, stepped away, and wish to return for the bachelor's degree. These students must reapply to be re-admitted to SMC. SMC must be your most recently attended college to apply as a Returning Student. If not, see the Transfer Student page.

- Check to see your Academic Standing at SMC by reaching out to an admissions specialist after applying.

4. Apply for Financial Aid

Send Your Transcript
Provide a secondary or post-secondary transcript, with a specific date of completion, to our Admissions Office.
Secondary-Level Work
Provide an official English translation of secondary-level work (or any post-secondary work); official translation must be through WES or notarized by a translator.
Official Test Scores
Provide your official Duolingo English Test, TOEFL, SAT or ACT score (a requirement only for international students).
Financial Support Affidavit
Submit an official Affidavit of Financial Support issued by a bank or notarized. The financial declaration must cover the net amounts necessary for a two year period (including any institutional financial aid).
Current Passport
Please include a copy of your current passport with your application materials.
Proof of Insurance
Proof of insurance is not required at the time of application but will be required before you begin classes at SMC.
