Get Caught Up or Get Ahead with Summer Classes at SMC!


REGISTRATION INFORMATION


For New Students and Transfer Students:

A new student is one who has not been previously enrolled at SMC or is not currently enrolled at another institution.

Steps:

1. Complete the Summer College Application for New Students.

2. You will also need to provide the following with your completed Application for Summer College:

    • Your high school transcript with graduation date.
    • Transcripts from all colleges attended.

For Current SMC Students (Continuing Students)

A continuing student is a student who is currently enrolled at SMC.

Steps:

1. Enroll directly with your adviser.

2. OR, you may also register directly with the SMC Registrar's Office (located in the Buchheit Administration Building).


For Transient Students

A transient student is one who is currently enrolled at another college or university.

Steps:

1. Complete the Summer College Transient application.

2. We also require your institution’s Transient Permission Form, which must be uploaded as part of the application process.  The form should include: your name, the courses you have permission to take, the signature of your Registrar or Academic Dean.

3. The deadline to submit an Application and Transient Permission Form for 2022 is May 18, 2022.


All first four-week and eight-week courses are online.

What you need to know:


Course Load: Students may take up to eight semester hours credit in the term.

Registration Deadline: 12:00 noon, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, for all online courses. 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 22 for in-person course.

Tuition Expense: $261.00 per credit hour.

Payment Deadline:  4:00 PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, for online courses; 4:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, for in-person courses. Schedules will be dropped for students who do not meet this deadline.

Housing: Opportunities for housing will be limited, so please fill out the summer housing form as soon as possible.  The form can be found here.

  • Four week session cost: $1,238.00
  • Eight week session cost: $2,475.00

Classes Begin: All online classes begin on May 25, 2022. In-person classes begin June 23, 2022.

Drop Period:  The deadline to drop online courses (both the online four- and online eight-week courses) is 12:00 noon, May 26, 2022. The deadline to drop the in-person course is June 24, 2022.

Last Day to Withdraw with a “W”The online four-week course withdrawal deadline is June 13, 2022. The online eight-week course withdrawal deadline is June 27, 2022. The in-person course withdrawal deadline is July 12, 2022.

Financial Aid:  A 2021-2022 FAFSA must be on file with the SMC Financial Aid Office. Aid will be awarded based on the student’s eligibility for Federal and State aid.

Books: Textbooks are included in the cost of the course.
