Get Caught Up or Get Ahead with Summer Classes at SMC!
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
For New Students and Transfer Students:
A new student is one who has not been previously enrolled at SMC or is not currently enrolled at another institution.
Steps:
1. Complete the Summer College Application for New Students.
2. You will also need to provide the following with your completed Application for Summer College:

- Your high school transcript with graduation date.
- Transcripts from all colleges attended.
For Current SMC Students (Continuing Students)
A continuing student is a student who is currently enrolled at SMC.
Steps:
- You may enroll in summer school courses in your Self-Service Portal beginning January 9th or you may register with your advisor.
For Transient Students
A transient student is one who is currently enrolled at another college or university.
Steps:
1. Complete the Summer College Transient application.
2. We also require your institution’s Transient Permission Form, which must be uploaded as part of the application process. The form should include: your name, the courses you have permission to take, the signature of your Registrar or Academic Dean.
3. The deadline to submit an Application and Transient Permission Form is May 20, 2026, at 5 PM.
All first four-week and eight-week courses are online.

What you need to know:
Course Load: Students may take up to seven semester hours of credit in the term.
Registration Deadline: 1:00 PM, Friday, May 22, 2026, for all courses.
Tuition Expense: $350.00 per credit hour.
Academic Resource Fee: $250.00
Payment Deadline: 1:00 PM, Friday, May 22, 2026, for all courses. Schedules will be dropped for students who do not meet this deadline.
Classes Begin: All classes begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
Drop Period: The deadline to drop a course (both the four- and eight-week courses) is 5:00 PM, May 27, 2026.
Last Day to Withdraw with a “W”: The four-week course withdrawal deadline is June 10, 2026. The eight-week course withdrawal deadline is June 22, 2026.
Financial Aid: A 2025-2026 FAFSA must be on file with the SMC Financial Aid Office. Aid will be awarded based on the student’s eligibility for Federal and State aid.
Books: Textbooks are included in the cost of the course.
