Get Caught Up or Get Ahead with Summer Classes at SMC!


REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Please note: 

  • The deadline to register is 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
  • The deadline to pay tuition is 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

For New Students and Transfer Students:

A new student is one who has not been previously enrolled at SMC or is not currently enrolled at another institution.

Steps:

1. Complete the Summer College Application for New Students.

2. You will also need to provide the following with your completed Application for Summer College:

  • Your high school transcript with graduation date.
  • Transcripts from all colleges attended.

For Current SMC Students (Continuing Students)

A continuing student is a student who is currently enrolled at SMC.

Steps:

1. Enroll directly with your adviser.

2. OR, you may also register directly with the SMC Registrar's Office (located n the Buchheit Administration Building).

For Transient Students

A transient student is one who is currently enrolled at another college or university.

Steps:

1. Complete the Summer College Transient application.

2. We also require your institution’s Transient Permission Form, which must be uploaded as part of the application process.  The form should include: your name, the courses you have permission to take, the signature of your Registrar or Academic Dean.

3. The deadline to submit an Application and Transient Permission Form is 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

What you need to know:


Course Load: Students may take up to eight semester hours credit (two 3 hr. or 4 hr. courses) in the term.

Payment Deadline: The deadline to pay the Business Office is 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Classes Begin: All classes begin on May 26, 2021.

Drop Period:  The deadline to drop courses (both four and eight weeks courses) is 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Last Day to Withdraw with a “W”Four weeks course withdraw deadline is June 14. Eight weeks course withdraw deadline is June 28.

Tuition Expense:   $261.00 per credit hour

Financial Aid:  A 2020-2021 FAFSA must be on file with the SMC Financial Aid Office. Aid will be awarded based on the student’s eligibility for Federal and State aid.

Books: Textbooks are included in the cost of the course.
