Spartanburg Methodist College hosted its inaugural Career Development Week last fall with events focused on developing skills and gaining insight on entering the working world.
The week emphasizes the importance of key skills like communication, teamwork, and leadership in fully preparing them to confidently take on their first big job.
At SMC, professional development – represented by the Camak Core program – is a critical element of a bachelor’s degree. All students complete the program as a built-in part of their degree.
During Career Development Week, students had a chance to participate in various events to practice the skills they learned including a networking event, a lunch and learn with a local employer, and the presentation of their final Capstone projects.
