About me: Hi! I’m John Moore.

Q: Why did you choose to be a Trustee for SMC, and what is your connection to SMC?

A: My father is a graduate of SMC and was a long-serving member of the board of trustees. It was very important to him that the tradition of supporting the college continue into future generations. I joined the board with the hope of honoring my father's memory through my service.

Q: What do you like most about being an SMC Trustee?

A: It is incredibly rewarding and energizing to be part of a team that helps create an environment of opportunity for students.

Q: In your own words, what is SMC's mission and purpose? 

A: SMC's mission is to foster an environment for its students that allows for the development of character and critical thinking. It is my sincere hope that this environment provides students the opportunity to better themselves and the communities around them.

Q: What do you like to do for fun? 

A: I enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, spending time with family and friends, and giving back to the Spartanburg community.
