About me: Hi! I’m Kathleen McKinney.

Q: Why did you choose to be a Trustee for SMC, and what is your connection to SMC? 

A: Liz Patterson asked me to join the Board of Trustees as a United Methodist. I had no prior connection to SMC.

Q: What do you like most about being an SMC Trustee? 

A: Knowing that I am part of a college that really makes a difference to students who often might not otherwise have an opportunity for higher education. If they can be successful, then their lives and their families will have a different trajectory for generations.

Q: In your own words, what is SMC's mission and purpose? 

A: To provide higher education opportunities to students who deserve a supportive environment academically, emotionally, and financially so that they can achieve their potential.

Q: What do you like to do for fun? 

A: Having dinner with my friends and watching movies.
