Q: Why did you choose to be a Trustee for SMC, and what is your connection to SMC?  

A: I was serving a local United Methodist congregation in Spartanburg and was asked to consider serving on the board. Of course, SMC is affiliated with the United Methodist Church in South Carolina.

Q: What do you like most about being an SMC Trustee? 

A: It gives me an opportunity to serve in the area of Higher Education. I served for six years as a campus pastor at another university in South Carolina. It affords me the opportunity to continue to serve students but in a different way.

Q: In your own words, what is SMC's mission and purpose? 

A: The college provides a safe place for anyone who wants to advance themselves in education and employment. Especially, the college makes a greater effort to a population that may not think of themselves as having the proper resources to do so.

Q: What do you like to do for fun? 

A: I love spending time with my family. Family has always been important to me so, anytime is family time.
