Spartanburg Methodist College is one of the few colleges in the South devoted exclusively to the freshmen and sophomore years of college. In fact, we are the only independent, two-year, regionally accredited residential college in South Carolina and one of the few colleges of this type in the Southeast.

This distinction makes us unique, and because we are unique, we take our mission seriously and keep the student's best interest in the forefront of our planning. Since we focus directly on these two years of education, naturally we do a great job of academically preparing our students to move on to their junior and senior years of college. Classes are small and individual student attention from our faculty is plentiful.
