Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC), a private, two-year, residential, co-educational, institution in the United Methodist Connection and located in upstate South Carolina invites applications for faculty in these academic areas: History (1), Biology (1), Spanish (1), Art (1), English (1) and Chemistry (1). Positions to be filled for Fall 2016.
Faculty Position Descriptions
Full-time faculty are expected to teach, advise, serve on at least one faculty committee, and participate in professional development activities. The teaching load is five, three-credit hour courses or a combination of lab courses equivalent to fifteen credit hours each fall and spring semester. Summer teaching opportunities may be available. Certain administrative roles (ex.: Division Chair) may be granted a reduced teaching load. Tenure track is an option.
For each position, the college prefers candidates with the terminal degree in the field to be taught. The Master’s degree in the field is required. A Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in the field may be considered. All degrees must have been earned at a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Applications from candidates who are credentialed in more than one area are encouraged.
