Test Scores Not Required

Test Scores Not Required

COVID-19 has made it difficult for many students to take standardized test scores such as the ACT and the SAT. You have enough things to worry about right now - test scores shouldn't be one of them.

You are not required to submit test scores when you apply to SMC or at any time during your time as an SMC student.

Test scores will not be used to decide whether you qualify for any kind of SMC aid, including scholarships, grants and student loans.

More help: we know money is tight for many of our families, so it's also now free to apply.

If you DO have ACT/SAT test scores, you can submit them. Your scores will only be considered for admission if your GPA and class rank are not high enough to qualify you.

What is required for Admission?

  • A completed application
  • A high school transcript sent from your school’s Guidance Office to our Admissions Office (by mail or emailed to admiss@smcsc.edu)
