Spartanburg Methodist College announces that Ben Maxwell has been hired as the vice president for enrollment, effective Sept. 4. This position is a part of the college’s leadership team, and Maxwell will serve as part of the college’s administrative leadership team and will report directly to Scott Cochran, SMC’s president.

Maxwell will oversee all aspects of student enrollment management and related initiatives. He will lead efforts to increase short- and long-term enrollment and retention, including creating an advancement plan with other college leaders and establishing relationships with local school districts, businesses and community partners.

Maxwell previously served as enrollment management coordinator and associate director for the University of North Georgia, where he received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and a certificate in diversity studies.
