SMC promotes Trey Arrington to vice president for operations
Spartanburg Methodist College announces that Trey Arrington, former chief information officer, has been promoted to Vice President for operations, effective August 1, 2018. Arrington will report directly to Scott Cochran, President of SMC.
In his new role, Arrington oversees partnerships between the college and vendors. Earlier in the year, Arrington led the search and contract process for new dining services and campus bookstore providers. This summer, Pioneer College Caterers, based in Olathe, KS, and Tree of Life Bookstores, which is based in Marion, IN, began operating on campus.
Arrington will retain responsibility for the college’s IT department, which manages all IT and systems functions, including residence hall access card systems, campus security cameras and telephone system.
Before working at SMC, Arrington served as the director of information systems at Union Hospital District and served in other IT and communications positions with Exopack LLC, ProVest Wealth Advisors and IMT Duncan. He received his bachelor’s degree in information management and systems with a concentration in business from USC Upstate in 2007.
